Schematic diagram
1. Set up project
Like other drawing software, ORCAD uses Project to manage various design documents. Click the Start menu, then all programs in turn ,Allegro SPB 15.5 Design Entry CIS, In the Studio Suite Selection dialog box that pops up, select the first option ORCAD_CAPTURE_CIS_OPTION WITH CAPTURE and click OK to enter Capture CIS. Next is File New Project. In the pop-up dialog box, fill in the Project name, path and so on. Click OK to enter the design interface.
2. Draw schematic diagram
When you create a new project, you open the default SCHEMATIC1 PAGE1 file, with a toolbar on the right for placing components, drawing lines, adding networks, etc. Similar to Protel. Click the Project Manager (folder tree icon) in the upper toolbar to enter the Project management interface, where you can modify the file name of the schematic diagram, set the size of the schematic drawing sheet, add schematic library, and so on.
1) Modify the size of the principle drawing:
Double click the Schematic1 folder, right-click Page1, and select Schematic1 Page Properties. In Page Size, you can select units, sizes, and so on.
2) Add schematic gallery:
File New Library. You can see that there is a library1.olb schematic File in the Library folder. Right click the File, select Save, and rename it to Save.
3)Add a new component:
Commonly used components with their own (such as resistors, capacitors), a lot of time to do their own components, or with others to do the components. Right click on the newly created OLB library file and select New Part or New Part From Spreadsheet, which creates New components as a table. This is great for drawing chip components with many pins. You can directly copy and paste from the pin description table in the chip Datasheet (in PDF format, press ALT key to select by column), you can add pins in batches, convenient and quick.
4)Create Net List:
The schematic should be almost complete by the time you import the network table on the drawing board. All that's left is to check the gaps. You can number components automatically, select the.DSN file in the Project Management interface, then select Tools Annotate, select some numbering rules in the pop-up dialog, and modify them according to requirements or use default Settings. DRC detection is also an important work before generating network tables, to avoid some unnecessary design errors. After DRC, you can try to generate network tables. In the project management interface, select Tools Create Netlist. You can select the storage path of network tables in the pop-up dialog box, and other default Settings are OK. You can check the Windows Session Log to see the cause of the error, such as a component that forgot to add packaging, etc.
5) Update components to schematic diagram:
When a component in the component library changes and the schematic needs to be updated simultaneously, instead of relocating the component (it would be crazy to have 100 or more components), in the Project Management screen, double-click the Design Cache folder, select the component you just modified, right-click and select Update Cache. All the way down to YES will be the schematic of the component all updated.
